Sore kidney

I had my surgery Thursday for my kidney stones. I am sore but I feel a lot better than I did, and the tube that was down my throat cut it up and it is very sore.

When I got to the hospital I was prepped for surgery by a male RN who had the bedside manner of barracuda. I was dehydrated from puking my guts up every day for a week so my veins were a little hard to find to draw blood. The lab nurse said that Mr. Barracuda would numb my vein before he started to dig in my arm to find a vein to not only put my IV in, but also to draw blood from. He didn't. He just went straight in. And it hurt like hell. He made me cry, I did not like him.

What I had done was Lithotripsy which is a noninvasive surgical procedure that uses shock, high energy waves to break up kidney stones into bits. My stone was 7 to 8mm, it was not coming out on its own. I am now passing very small pieces.

What I am so excited about is that he did not have to insert a stent in the tube between my bladder and kidney. I have had to wear a stent on 3 previous procedures. I can honestly say that having this stent inside of my body for 7 days was more painful than the actual passing of a kidney stone. Here is a picture of one:

And an x-ray of a stent inside of someone with multiple stones:
I told my doctor to do whatever he had to do so that I did not have to wear the stent again. He was only able to break up the bigger stone. He had to leave the smaller ones, I would have had the stent if he had broken up the rest of them.

Kidney stones suck.

Pounce on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what happens when you are bored on a Sat morning.

The dog gets so jealous!

Cutest baby EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my jobs at work is payroll. As you all know, today is April 15th.

I ask you a simple question. Why do people think that I should stop EVERYTHING I am doing to get them another copy of their W/2 that was provided to them in January?!?!

I DID NOT procrastinate and wait to the last minute to complete my taxes and I DID NOT misplace my forms.

I DO on the other hand have my own work to complete on a deadline. All year long, I am more than happy to reprint check stubs when employees need them for car loans or mortgage refinancing. I have even reprinted up to 5 years of w/2's for child support cases. I understand there may be instances where you need a copy of a form, I am not unreasonable.

I sometimes wonder if I am working with adults or my children. Check stubs have social security numbers printed on them and employees just toss them in the garbage as if they are an old grocery list. I don't even want to know what happens to the W/2's that are lost.

I guess, I just wish people were more responsible. Is that asking too much?

This. Is. Scary.

I had a girl monchhichis when I was little. She was soooo cute and cuddly.

If only he had a little dark mole on the tip of his nose...tee hee.

C & H

This is how I have been feeling

Friday night before we left for St. Louis, I had a kidney stone attack. We went to the ER, spent the normal 3-4 hours, found out that my stone was 7mm (way too big to pass) and was sent home to sleep off the drugs. I decided to go ahead with the trip, the pain was not as bad as on the onset, and I did have pain medication.

The trip was great! I am really glad we decided to go. We had a great time at the ballpark on Sunday and the Cardinals won. I almost had to auction off my good kidney to buy food for the kids once they started whining that they were hungry. Geeeezzz....ballpark food is EXPENSIVE.

The zoo in St. Louis is really interesting, they have so many animals that we do not have at the Louisville Zoo. The penguin exhibit is really cool, it is open and you walk through a really cold area where they are kept. You could touch them you were so close!

We went on the tour up inside the arch. This is a pic of Ash just as the elevator closed and started to move... The poor thing was scared to the death.

Oh, and the weather was awesome, we could not have asked for better weather. These two cute fella's were catching a nap in the warm sun.

Monday evening on the way home, I had another bad attack and we had to stop at a little hospital in Fairfield Illinois. It was so tiny, there were only two beds in the ER, but they took great care of me and in no time, we were back on the road again.

Tuesday I visited my Urologist and he decided that after reading my CT scan that I would need to have Lithotripsy on my left kidney. I thought I only had the one big stone, but apparently there is 3-4 more that are 2mm or larger. OUCH! So, next week, I am getting the crap beaten out of my kidney in hopes that it will break up all of these damn stones so I can pass them without so much agony.

I hate effin' kidney stones.

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby...

what in the hell were you thinking, you jackass????? Lies, lies and more lies!!! Hello??? Did you really believe no one would ever check on your references? Please...tell me you didn't list Mike and Carol Brady as one of your past clients?!?!

You don't have to bake a royal cake or cook for a president to become a well known and respected chef.

And the funny thing is, I really liked his TV show, Dinner: Impossible, which is now cancelled. According to the news articles I have read, he is a really good chef. I just don't get it. I don't understand why people make themselves out to be something they are not. Seems to me that without all the silly pageantry, he might still be on top of his game.

Yay for Spring Break!

The girls are on Spring Break next week. So we are taking a little trip to St. Louis. We have tickets for a Cardinals game and a long list of sites we plan to see. I can't wait! Now, if I can just get through the rest of this workday. Ugh.

Tidbit Thursday

1. Never use a curling iron while naked.

2. Don't put your keys on top of your car just as you are getting in. You will waste a lot of time looking for me.

3. Dogs like cat food, cat treats and cat poop. Well, at least our dog does.

4. Don't try making conversation, that actually makes sense, with a 12 year old girl.

5. If you are looking for a new happy pill...Cymbalta is my new drug of choice. :u)

6. When you can't find any of your 8 yr old daughters clothes, be sure to check: under her bed, behind her dresser, behind her bookshelf and on her bottom bunk under the large mass of stuffed animals.

The greatest hand lotion...
