I need him...

I Need You

I wanna drink that shot of whiskey
I wanna smoke that cigarette
I wanna smell that sweet addiction on my breath
I wanna ride across West Virginia in the back seat of a Cadillac
You know some cowboys like me go out like that
So I need you
Like a needle needs a vein
Like my uncle Joe in Oklahoma needs a rain
And I need you
Like a lighthouse on the coast
Like the father and the son need the Holy Ghost
I need you

I wanna get lost in some corner booth, Cantina Mexico
I wanna dance to the static of an AM radio
I wanna wrap the moon around us, lay beside you skin on skin
Make love til the sun comes up, til the sun goes down again
Cause I need you

Like a needle needs a vein
Like my uncle Joe in Oklahoma needs a rain
I need you
Like a lighthouse on a coast
Like the father and the son need the Holy Ghost
I need you, OOH I need you

I wanna drink that shot of whiskey
I wanna smoke that cigarette
You know some cowboys like me go out like that
So I need you, whoa I need you

An informative "how to" on showering...

My kids love 'em...

Crocs that is. I have a pair myself and I have to admit they are comfy. But, ours are the Target brand, not the $30.00 name brand. They are an approved shoe for school as long as they have the strap in the back. Which, makes my mornings much easier, with my youngest who does not like tennis shoes...or socks. She can be a little stinker. Speaking of my little stinker, she is REALLY into the croc charms.

Which according to the crocs website, the proper name is, Jibbitz. At last count I think she had 12 on each shoe. She is the croc charm queen in her class!! And I must give props to Dunnski for finding a heckofa deal on a bag full of Jibbiz on ebay. They are great to use as bribes. And those of you with kids, you know what I am talking about!!

My 1st issue of Cooking Light came today...

I can't wait to get in the kitchen!!

Great song...worth another post.

Bubbles

My youngest has learned to blow bubbles...and take pics of herself with my camera.

A nice visit...

Dunnski's mom came to visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday we had dinner with my family and ate until we couldn't move. That night, we caught a chick flick, and laughed ourselves silly.

Friday, we spent the day at the Churchill Downs in a suite...VERY nice. The mood was dampened when one of the horses was injured during a race and had to be euthanized. On a brighter note, it was a very good day for Dunnski though, he is very good at betting on the horses.

Saturday we put up our Christmas tree, and yes, it is STILL alive. I have remembered to water it everyday. She made us her wonderful Kentucky Derby Pie. It had bourbon and so many chocolate chips...I was in heaven.

Here is a pic of her and my youngest...

My girls are into this hot green nail polish...

I don't get it.

This looks cute...

This postcard reminded me...

of a hand muff I had when I was little. It was white and fluffy with a silk lining. It matched a little white coat that I would wear to church on Sundays.

Vintage postcard, originally uploaded by CGoulao.

Cool.

Week 1 over...

And I'm 2 pounds lighter! Yay me!!

Hmmm...

Have you heard or seen the new Walmart commercials for the upcoming weekend? I think I heard at least 6 on the radio today. They are pushing the new "we will have more lanes open for your convenience" line.

Yeah...I'll believe it when I see it.

I knew it!! I would have been totally hip in the 60's!

You Belong in 1959

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!
What Your Handwriting Says About You

You are a fairly energetic person. You know how to pace yourself, and you deal well with stress.

You are somewhat outgoing, but you're not a natural extrovert. You think first before you act. You tend to be independent, rational, and logical.

You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others.

You need a bit of space in your life, but you're not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well.

You are somewhat traditional, but you are also open to change. You listen to your head and your heart.

You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous.

5 things you may not know about me...

I was blog tagged by Mandy, so here goes.

1. Everytime Coal Miners Daughter is on TV, I have to watch it. It is very strange, but it draws me in, time, after time. Favorite line? Doo, I'm goin' to have a baby.

2. I am not a morning person. Enough said.

3. I hate being cold, even more than I don't like getting up in the morning. I don't consider outdoor winter sports/activities fun. It makes me have to pee and makes my nose run.

4. I am allergic to cats, although there is one living in my house. Hmmm.....

5. I don't understand football at all. Okay, I get the fact that the guys are trying to run the ball into the end zone for a touch down. But all the mumbo jumbo from the time they start until the time the touchdown is scored...Jeeez!!! It makes my head hurt.

I am now passing the torch to The Sidog.

Mmmm...where do I get in line!

This morning my youngest is describing to me all the snacks that are served at the YMCA in the afternoon. The following is in accurate description, in her words...

*slimy pudding
*blah applesauce
*sicko pop tarts
*yucky P/B crackers
*crappy ole fruit cups

Now, I don't know about you, but I am starving!!!

Today was the dreaded...

Parent/Teacher conference! My 8 year old made sure to inform me this morning of two very important points.
1. Her teacher is ALWAYS grumpy on Wednesdays.
2. If the teacher said ANYTHING bad about her, she was lying.
hmmmm.....I am not at all suspicious of my little darling!!!!

Damn you, McDonalds cheeseburger!!

Yeah, he looks all sweet and innocent. "Come on, have a seat", he says. And then, he makes you eat a cheeseburger that you bought for your daughter, with those stupid McD's bucks that lure you back time, after time. They hide in your purse, calling at you, "Hey, free food in here!" If I had only known Cork had already eaten, I wouldn't have been tempted by the clown. I was strong enough to fight off the fries, ohhhh....those yummy, hot, salty, ahhhh...what was I talking about, oh yeah, FRIES! But I couldn't walk away from that flat disc of beef and those onion bits, gawd I love those onions. So, I was defeated tonight by a clown. I am not proud, but I am satisfied with the fact that I only had to borrow 3.5 points from my weekly allowance. Tomorrow is a new day!

No! Still means no, even after asking me 37 times.

My darling 12 year old daughter wants a MySpace page/account, whatever the kids are calling it these days. Every time she asks, I tell her "no", but she doesn't seem to comprehend the meaning of that word. She has told me that I am not a "cool mom", and that I just don't understand the pressure she is under to have a MySpace. My favorite line she has used on me is "Why do you care so much about me to not let me have one?" See, ALL of her other friends, according to her, have one, so she needs one too. She really needs to stop, she is embarrassing herself at this point...tonight she told me that she needed it to "talk" to her friends. I told her to email her friends and she said that none of her friends had email addresses. Hmmm...so, I asked her how they had a myspace if they didn't have an email address?!?! She quickly replied that those were all "made up" email addresses. I am so over this conversation, I could throw up. Wait, I think I just did a little in my mouth, eeewwww.

She has a blog, but of course that is not good enough. No one her age has blogs! So, I told her to start a new trend at her school, get all of her friends blogging!! She just looked at me and rolled her eyes. That is a look I am seeing alot of these days.

I heart Walgreens

Every month in their circular they have "free" items that you can buy. You then mail in a rebate form and Walgreens will send you a gift card with that amount plus 10% of your rebate amount. Last month I snagged some Pantene shampoo and conditioner and makeup. Come on, who doesn't like free stuff and free money!?!?

La Madrastra

It really doesn't get any better than this.

Does anyone remember Santa Claus Land?

Located in a small town in Indiana called, Santa Claus. Boy, I sure do. I loved that place. My Grandma and Grandad would take us either there, or to Opryland, every year for a summer trip. It was great! My Grandma would always take us in the little shops and buy us little trinkets and toys. And we always got to visit with Santa.
One year at Opryland, I had my picture taken with The Count from Count Chocula cereal. I love that picture, I still have it. I found it at my Grandparents house when we were cleaning it out after they died. I have it on my window seal at work. Man, I sure was skinny when I was 8!!!

A new day...

I am not getting anywhere weighing myself like this...

So, I am going to start weighing the correct way...

Using this...I did it two years ago, I am confident I can succeed again.

WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first craft swap goodies...

I would like to thank Gina at Feather Your Nest for all of the cool craft items. I love them!!
And the Appletini Lip Balm is yummy!

She is too cute!!

Ahhhh....It's Saint Eve!!!

Yup, it's official, I am a dork. I went to Kohl's the other day to buy some new intimate apparel. I found some very comfy and super cute panties in some cool colors. So I bought like 12 pair! I was telling Dunnski about them and we went back to see if a different Kohl's location had any. As we were browsing around, I said to him, "Here they are, the name brand is Steve, and Steve really makes a comfy pair of panties!" He looks up at the sign and says, "It's St.Eve, not Steve." So, there ya go. I am a dork.

If you look close at the tag, It does look like "steve", but we did have a good laugh, it was worth it.

Things that have been annoying me lately...

1. My work computer
2. Anytime my home phone rings
3. My ex-husband giving our 8 yr old daughter my CS check to her, for her to give me - real classy
4. Avril Lavigne
5. My left kidney
6. My dry hands and cuticles
7. Rude drivers, if I let you in front of me, please wave or nod. It is the polite thing to do.
