Some things never change

Last weekend, my ex had the girls. He told them that on Saturday they would go to a friends house and swim and then go to the KY State Fair. Instead, they helped his new girlfriends sister move into her new house, in Lexington. That is awesome fun for a 12 and an 8 year old!!

He emailed me last week and asked me if he could have them this weekend to take them to the lake with his family, his girlfriend and her two daughters. I said I would ask them and see what they thought and let him know. They liked the idea of spending the weekend with their new friends and getting to ride in their dad's new boat. He never really took them out in his boat when we were married. So, last night he picks them up for their long weekend. They were to leave tonight. He calls today on my way back from lunch to tell me that they will not be going to the lake. There will be too many people down there and it will just be too crowded. I then tell him not to bother to pick them back up tonight, Cork from my Mom's and Ash from school. I am pissed off!!!

How many times do you let your kids down before they just stop believing you? Three, thirteen, twenty-three times???? Well, my oldest is already there, the youngest on the other hand is still too young. It isn't that hard, if you say you are going to do something, then damn it...DO IT. If not, then keep your mouth shut!

This dude likes ketchup as much as I do!

Come on guys or gals, which did you prefer?

** Ginger - because she was a hot, sultry actress.
** Mary Ann - because she was a wholesome, hometown farm girl.
** Lovey - because she was loaded!

No thanks, I'm good!

I'm really not into paying my hard earned money so I can have the holy living crap scared out of me!

This is just disturbing...

The Big Rock Show RAWKED

Thanks Twinkie, for a great time at Two Lane tonight. The music was loud and the beer was cold.

Hey, who else can say that they had The Big Rock Show play for their birthday?

Happy Birthday Twinkie!!!

I don't know how to make them stop.

I have been having these dreams. Dreams about my ex's family. The last time I saw them was at Thanksgiving last year, D and I had already talked of separating, so there was an uneasiness in the air. I knew that day, even if we could have worked it out, it would never be the same in their eyes. I never got to say goodbye that day. My youngest was playing with her cousin and fell and cut a gash in her head and we had to rush her to the ER. I never imagined it would be the last time I would see them.

In my dreams I am with my in-laws and two sister-in-laws. They are always ignoring me and doing a bad job of "pretending" I'm not there. I always have a confrontation with only one of them in each dream. And it is a knock down, drag out, yelling match. The dream I had last night was a little different, I was stuck on a high beam or something and I could not get down and they would not help me. They just kept ignoring me. What the hell is wrong with me?

I know that part of me just can't believe that after 20 years you can just cut ties with someone and don't ever care if you talk to them or see them ever again. They only lost one person. I lost a whole family. I can honestly say, I wasn't that close with my mother-in-law. She had a brain aneurysm 10 years ago and it really changed who she was as a person. I was close to my father-in-law. But I was the closest to my two sister-in-laws, they were like sisters to me. And now they are gone, just gone. And it isn't like this was a shock to them. They knew I was unhappy three years ago and talked me into staying and working on my marriage. So, just because I am not married to their brother, I can't be their friend?

So, I guess until I get some kind of closure to this in my mind, the dreams will continue...

I was searching a vintage web site I look at every once in a while and I ran across a picture of this lamp. My ex-mother-in-law has a pair of these lamps in her living room. Need I say anymore?

Actually, I will say one more thing. These damn owls will scare the holy living crap out of you if you walk up on them in the dark at night.

This little cutey belongs to Firefly. After the day I've had, he made me smile! His name is Blu.

If you change your codeword to your home security system...write it down. See, if you are crazy like me, you will forget it. Because when your alarm goes off, you will need the codeword to give to the CSR that calls your home. Cause, like I said before, if you are crazy like me, and you don't know it, they will call the police. So, I am now blogging and waiting for the fuzz on my front porch. It's actually pretty quiet out here at the moment, no kids whining or fighting.
Oh, wait, here they come, at least the sirens aren't on!!

It's going to a long 2 1/2 years...

Cork came home today with her braces! She was so excited. She went to the kitchen and made herself a sandwich, which she couldn't eat, so she just threw it away. OMG! I could have eaten that. Please, don't waste food! So, then she then decides to try ravioli, that is a little easier to chew. She is having problems eating because they put two big globs of glue in her two back top teeth so her teeth wouldn't touch. But it also makes it a little difficult for her to chew. As she is finishing her ravioli, one of the colored bands across the front falls out. She has pink and green along the front, SO CUTE! Then, she is watching TV and one of the brackets falls off. YES, I said brackets!! I call the orthodontist and the nice lady that answers the phone, says "Now, did she eat something off the unapproved food list?" I bit my tongue and said "No, she has only had them for 30 minutes!" She then tells me they have no appointments today they are overbooked and they can see her in the morning. I am so excited!

Oh my!

My youngest is at work with me today and she is writing on a white board. She is marking on the days what mood she is.

Monday she was happy, Tuesday she was possessed, today she is miserable. Oh my, possessed? By what? She worries me.

Every morning since school has started

my youngest asks me the same question:

"Is it going to be hot or cold today?"

And I have told her the same answer every morning. It is going to be hot, until I tell you otherwise. But she still asks the question. WHY???? Oh, I know, TO DRIVE ME CRAZY!

Calgon, take me away...

My oldest gets her braces today. She is so excited she can hardly stand it. This morning she woke up stressed because I would not be seeing her again without the braces. Her Nanny is taking her to her appointment this afternoon. Her appointment isn't until 2:30, but she thought she would try to get me to let her stay home to prepare herself. WHATEVER!

My youngest got out of bed this morning without a fight, went to the potty and immediately starting screaming. You would have thought someone was cutting her arm off. My diagnosis is a bladder infection, we have a 10:20 doctors appointment just to confirm. So, the little squirt is at work with me today. We packed a backpack full of gadgets to keep her busy. She is a wanderer though, she likes to visit with people and chit chat. Her favorite is to sneak into Dunnski's office and scare the crap out of him.

It's going to be a long day.

I really hate doing laundry.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have a sorted pile of reds and pinks screaming my name. I really hate it when the clothes talk to me, it's very annoying!

Catching fireflies...

My girls have been having fun catching lightning bugs after dark. I have many fond memories of chasing hundreds of lightning bugs with my brothers when we were little. We would always try to catch them all before it was time to come in for the night. My brothers would want to keep them and bring them in the house. My Mom always had other ideas about that. Boys!

My sister-in-law calls just as I am pulling in my garage and asks if I have made dinner. I tell her I have no clue what I am having for dinner. She then tells me some news that makes me smile. Sonic had burgers tonight 5 for $5, and they could only eat two. Sooooo, she wants to know if we want the other three. Cha Ching! Dinner is served. And, she even delivered them to us. It really doesn't get any better than that!

*in case you are new to my parents, me and my two brothers families live on a 16 acre family farm.

You may be seeing one of these ticker thingies in my near future... The webs free Food Journal

I had a co-worker ask me today how my diet was going. I am NOT on a diet. So I did what any self-respecting lady would do. I pushed her fat ass down three flights of stairs. Oh, okay, not really, but I wanted to...really bad!

My ex-husbands new girlfriend's daughter just called my cell phone to talk to my daughter. I am not sure why, but I am not happy about this. Call my house phone. How does she even know my cell phone number? Oh and have I mentioned that her kids are already calling him, Daddy. He has known them for about a month. Yeah, that makes my kids feel special, that just anyone can call their Dad that. Okay, I feel a little better now, I must go wrench my cell from Cork or she will use all of my minutes on this one phone conversation.

My youngest had a hoarse voice this morning.

She told me on the

way into school that

her voice was crinkly.

It made me smile.

Sometimes, I wish

they would stay little

Ohh, what a happy day!

A Dollar General has just opened less than a mile from my house. Tee Hee!
It really does take very little to please me.

The following came in an email this morning...very funny

Mmmm...Stuffed peppers

Every Saturday morning we visit our local Farmer's Market. Yesterday, one of the vendors had made stuffed peppers, they were to die for. She also makes a very good tomato pie, but I can't pass up a good stuffed pepper. We also purchased enough fresh veggies to make Ratatouille for dinner over a bed of rice. Mmmmm....yummy.

"Minors and Hoes"

When the woman answered "bengay" for the wiener question, I LOST IT! She was so serious, I laughed until I cried.

Tee Hee...

What is love?

Happy Birthday!

to my oldest daughters BFF Kayla, who also happens to be my niece.

Damn, that hurt!

We headed out to lunch today and I am, of course, wearing my super cute American Eagle wedge sandals. I open the door to Dunnski's car and I MUST have stepped on a rock or uneven pavement, because my right ankle turned inward and down I went. Straight down, between the car door and the seat. Just in case you are wondering, Grace is not my middle name. I now have a knot on the top of my ankle and my knee is burning. But, I am glad to report the sandals were not harmed in anyway during my tumble.

Wow, Nicole!

82 whole minutes, GOTTA be a record! Way to show Paris what you're made of. Gee, I wonder how many Xanax she needed to get through that hour and 22 minutes?

Count your blessings...

Yesterday morning a school bus carrying 18 of my oldest daughters classmates was run off the road by a pickup truck going the wrong way on a back road off the main highway. All of the kids had to be taken to the hospital for various injuries. Luckily the bus didn't roll all the way over, it was stopped by a line of trees. Most of the injuries were bruises, broken bones and cuts from the broken glass. And the truck who caused the accident? He left the scene.

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it!

I'm playing in my very first Texas Hold'em tournament this weekend. The Great Dunnski gave me a crash course in poker yesterday during lunch, and I think I have it down. I just can't remember the name of the two people to the left of the dealer who have to bet after each hand is dealt, the big and little, you know...ben, bertha, bingo. Oh, yeah...BLIND. But he assures me that there will not be a pop quiz on this information so I shouldn't worry. We will practice again tomorrow, hmmm...maybe I can talk him into a little strip poker!

I heart Target

Made a quick trip to Target at lunch. I picked up this really cute purse. And I was able to get everything I needed on my list. I really love Target!

Something I bet you didn't know...

It is almost impossible to complete 2 pages of science homework when your daughter brings home her language arts book to help her finish.

The Power of Touch

I have been wanting to post something about "the power of touch." I was reading Fiona's blog tonight and she posted her own thoughts on the same subject earlier in the month.

My circumstance is a little different than Fiona's, I was touched and hugged as a child but not as an adult. I was married for almost 14 years in an almost non-affectionate marriage. After a while, you just grow cold and used to the numbness. You don't even miss it really, I mean, how can you miss something you don't have.

I have been in a relationship for several months with a man that I adore. And until I knew his touch, I didn't know what love was. I need to be touched and hugged, some days more than others. I think Fiona said it perfectly:

"We touch each other with complete love and adoration. We cherish each other's body. It's impossible for us to be close and not to touch. And if we're not close enough to touch, we move towards each other without even thinking. We touch as friends, we touch as lovers, we touch as life mates. Our language is that of touch. We fold into each other's body when we begrudgingly give ourselves up to sleep. I have discovered the power of touch, the incredible feelings of intimacy just a brush of fingers across the back of a hand can bring. He loves every inch of me, as I love every inch of him. From the intimacy of our touch, we are thriving."

I am looking in my closet...and I am asking myself WHY???

I know the answer to my questions before I even ask them, the answer is, because I am a girl.

**Why do I have seventeen work outfits that don't fit me but I keep them? Because they may fit again one day, der!

**Why do I have 11 pairs of shoes that hurt like hell, but I keep them? Well, I have the perfect outfit to match them. And if I am going out and won't be standing long, I can take the pain. Hey, no one said being a fashionista was easy!

**Why do I have one side of my closet in the size that I wore last year? That one is a toughie, I keep telling myself I will need those soon. But I will actually need to do physical activity to lose weight to fit into the smaller clothes. That is the key!

**I have a walk in closet full of clothes, but I find myself wearing the same things over and over. Why is that? Okay, the answer to this one may not be cause I am a girl. Guys may do this one too.

**If I buy one more pair of white pants or carpi's that you can see through, someone please bitch slap me!! For goodness sake, I have had two children! Nobody wants to see that.

Thank you for your support.

Be careful...I'm in a mood!

What is he so sad about????

Okay, I know male readers are going to have a field day with this one, but I just don't get it!

Here is Matt Murphy the night he catches Barry Bonds seven hundred something home run.

Here he is a few weeks later whining that he has to sell it because he can't afford to keep it.

HELLO!!!! It is a dirty baseball, I can get you another one that looks just like it! What are you a friggin moron! Keep the damn thing and you owe Uncle Sam a t-t-t-t-on of money. Sell the damn thing and you pocket a t-t-t-t-on of money. Seems pretty simple to me. Am I right, ladies?????

When will then be now?

We meet for the first time, for the last time...

Damn it, Hillary!!

So, Dunnski and I are going out Friday night and I had this outfit ALL planned out. And then, Hillary Duff, has to parade herself around in the same outfit. COME ON, HILLARY!! Couldn't you let me have my thunder for just one night? Geez, you would think she was like, a superstar or something. *sniff* I even had the gloves and I had ordered the shoes from a lady named Bambi on eBay.

Ummm....that's not your backpack...

I pick up my youngest after school at the YMCA everyday. When I arrived today, there was only Ash and one other little girl left to be picked up. The site director picked up Ash's backpack, a High School Musical 2 - I love Troy backpack, and threw it over his shoulder. I thought he was taking it to her, but as he walked closer to her, I realized he was not delivering her backpack to her. He had mistaken her bag for his. So, I said to this grown man, "come on, you don't love Troy too?" He didn't get it, and then Ash said, Mr. Josh, you have my bag! He kindly handed over my daughters crush at the moment and then he asked her which High School Musical she liked the best, 1 or 2. He preferred 1, her preference was 2.

Love notes...

I packed a little love note in my 8 year old's lunch box. Just a little pick me up, to get her through rest of her grueling 3rd grade day. Here is the conversation between her and her lunch buddies:

Her: I got a note from my Mommy!

Lunch buds: What's it say?

Her: Ash, I love you have a great day. Love, Mommy

Lunch buds: How do you know it's not from the boy you like??

Her: Cause my Mommy signed it.

I'm gonna lose it!

If my 12 year old looks at me one more time and says...WHATEVER!! I have tried to warn her that if she doesn't stop, she may have to see my best Joan Crawford impersonation. And, you know, I have never liked wire hangers either, scary!

In other news, I went to the tanning bed after lunch today. I had a free upgrade to the "instant bed", Yoo Hoo!! My skin is now a nice 238 degrees and stinging like a school of jelly fish just had their way with me.

Taa taa for now, must find aloe vera gel or sit in a bathtub full of ice water.

Damn! I'm not sure how much this couple will be able to enjoy their Rav 4...from PRISON!!!

For some strange reason, I really want popcorn!

We all put up walls for different reasons...

What are your reasons?

The pursuit of happiness...

It was a good weekend...I am very blessed. I have two great daughters, sure they can be a handful, but it would be really boring if they were perfect. I am surrounded by a wonderful family that love us very much. I am with someone who makes me happy. And better yet, I make myself happy. I can honestly say that I am giving all I have at everything I do. I have nothing else to give, what you see is what you get. Life is too short to not live every minute to the fullest.

Ohhh...the humanity!!!

We just clicked...

Have you ever met someone that you have felt like you have known forever? I had a meeting today with a sales rep with a local vendor that I have used at work for quite some time. She is new to account, so this was our first meeting. I greeted her in the lobby and we agreed that we would lazily take the elevator instead of the one flight of stairs. Hey, we were both in heels!

Well, we get to my office and we were like two giddy teenage girls. We were talking about our kids, uniforms for school, pets, husbands (hers), ex-husbands (mine) and anything else that popped into our heads. We did spend a whole 3 minutes of her 1 1/2 hour visit talking about the product she sells. Oh well, in the next week or so, we plan on doing lunch.

What are you doing at 8:00 on a Friday night?

Well, when you have two daughters, where else would we be? I am still trying to figure out how my 8 year old knows all the words to the songs when the movie just came on. Go Wildcats!!

I swear I am NOT making this stuff up!!!

My Mom left work early today to go get the stupid bunnies and take them to the vet. Well, she gets home and drives back to the barn where I took them last night and they are gone!! They door to the cage is open. The little shits escaped! About that time, my sister-in-law rides up on their golf cart with my oldest and her daughter, Kayla that just got off the bus. They freak out and start riding around looking for them. And guess what? They find both of them!! Now, there is no telling how long they had been out of the cage. The brown one, bit my sister-in-law twice, and she still captured it and brought it back home. They just called me and they are now in the process of building them separate cages made of wood. She can't stand to see the girls upset over giving them away. I am just upset over the idea of the damn things gettin' it on and maybe having baby bunnies to take care of too. *sigh*

Can I hear a...Woot! Woot!

For finding 5 Polo's, 2 t-shirts and 1 sweatshirt with my daughters school name and logo on them at a local consignment store!! They looked brand new! They would cost $120 at her school new, my total $38 buckeroos. Yes, I know, I am too good.

Grab yourself a cup of joe, this may take a while...

I woke up sick this morning, actually I went to bed not feeling well last night. My oldest set her alarm and had herself ready and was waiting for the bus with her cousin and a neighbor by 7:15. Her little sis and I, still asleep. I really felt like crap. I finally got out of bed at 8:30, the little one had to be at school at 9:00. Hmm...I know, I was cutting it close, but hey we got to school with 4 whole minutes to spare. As we are walking in to school I notice several pools of throw up in the front lawn and on the sidewalk...YUCK. Ohhh, to be a kid again, NOT!!

I am lucky enough to be 2nd in line at the ICC. Only to hear that the DR is running late today, he isn't even in the building. Ugh, I have a sinus and an ear infection. No wonder my head has been hurting.

I then head to the courthouse to get my two vehicles transferred into my name only. Well, I forgot that I was dealing with the government. My insurance cards had my ex's name on them, there was a problem with the VIN #'s not being typed on a document and another problem that I was luckily able to take care of with a phone call.

I left the courthouse and made a quick stop at the grocery. I get home from the grocery and I get a call from a vets office saying they can take the bunnies this afternoon, I need to bring them now. So, I quickly put the cold things away and head to the basement to retrieve the critters. This where it gets interesting. Every time I open the cage, the little shits run from me. So, I try everything I can think of to get them to come to me. They hate me. I finally catch the brown one and drop it in a deep basket. When I turned to catch the white one, the brown one jumped out of the basket. I then spent the next 3 to 4 hours, I lost count, chasing that damn bunny. I really hate that damn bunny now. I really didn't like it before, I REALLY don't like it now. I waited until the girls got home, they couldn't catch it either. Bunnies are rather quick when they don't want to be caught. So, I did what anyone would do...I called Dad. Before my Dad came, my niece ran over. You know, my oldest BFF - Kayla!! I told her my story and she walks down in the basement and immediately comes back up carrying the little shit. She just walked down there and picked her up. I bet you are wondering how I know it is a SHE. Well, let me tell you. Kayla puts the bunny in the cage with the white one, and we are all standing looking at them. And the white one mounts the brown one and takes off. I thought I was going to die. The two older girls knew what was happening. My youngest didn't have a clue. Maybe I should let her teacher put her in the "blue group" after all. I certainly don't want her telling her new teacher THAT story.

I am still filling out paperwork...

The first day of school went great! The girls both came home with their packets of information that needed my full attention, before anything else could be done. And what is up with all of that paperwork? A home language survey, an agricultural survey, permission to video tape form, permission to participate in physical education, a form that says my kid can get a fruit roll up at lunch or a bottle of water! Geeeezzzz! I was planning on "forgetting" the forms until the weekend. Then my youngest told me that if she didn't return hers tomorrow, she would be put in the "blue group" where there is no talking allowed. She then informed me that she could never make it in the "blue group" because she is such a gabber. Tee hee, a gabber. She is funny.

I used this one on my ex-husband. Several times...

Bless Your Heart, Tramp

And Other Southern Endearments

Step into the wacky world of womanless wedding fund-raisers, in which Bubbas wear boas. Meet two sisters who fight rural boredom by washing Budweiser cans and cutting them to pieces to make clothing. Learn why the word snow sends any right-thinking Southerner careening to the Food Lion for extra loaves of bread and little else. Humor columnist and slightly crazed belle-by-birth Celia Rivenbark tackles these and other lard-laden subjects in Bless Your Heart, Tramp, a no-holds-barred look at all things sassy, sensational, and southern.

(Found this little gem at the library today in the bargain bin for only $1.00, Woot! Woot!)

Dunnski made her day!

You may remember my post about my youngest seeing Toad on the Mario game and wanting it, badly! Well, yesterday she got her wish. A little Toad, about the size of the tip of her index finger. When she saw it, I thought she was going to cry. You see, for her, the smaller the better. She has always had a fascination with small things. Every since she was little, she would collect little groups of toys. Her current collections include erasers and the Littlest Pet Shop critters. I can see her wanting to now start collecting Toads. Thanks Dunnski, she LOVED it!!!!!!

My bff...Kayla!!!!

OMG!! I know you remember this commercial. Well, this was replayed in my house two days ago! I opened my oldest cell phone bill and she had 227 text messages in one month. HELLO!!! The child can also pick up the device and use it as a PHONE!!!! Not to mention, she has the ability to IM and email. Now, I am not taking her phone, but I am cancelling her texting. In the words of my 12 year old, "T.I.S.N.F.", to which I responded, "O.W.L.N.F.G.O.I." - translated (oh well, life's not fair, get over it). I love being a mom.

Hmm...gourmet touch? I do like the wand.

*Read the little print on the bottom of the cookbook: Recipes from American Dairy Association Test Kitchen. Ahhh....Test Kitchen? I would have put that in little, fine print also.

Two months from today!

Maybe without

Bunny jail really sucks!

My five week stint in bunny jail is nearly over. I have done my time and I'm being released early on very, very good behavior. Since those darn little things live for 5-10 years!!

I have finally HAD it with the stupid bunnies! THEY MUST GO. A call was made to the ex, and he is finding a new home for them. They will either end up; at his new girlfriends house, at his parents house or at the vet to be adopted. I don't care where they go, as long as they are gone from my house.

In fact, those annoying bunnies have upset me so, that Max and Ruby are the only ones I can stand to even look at right now. And that is only because they live in a really cute house and can talk and cook. And they DON'T poopy everywhere!!!!!

Guess what I got today?
